Post 1776
On Monday, November 11, 2019 (Veterans Day) Post 1776 participated in a Flag raising at Kossmann School followed by flag raising at Flocktown School with class discussions afterwards. Breakfast was served to the veterans at Kossmann School.
On Friday Nov 8, Post 1776 and other veterans gathered for the Washington Township’s Veterans brunch at the Valley Restaurant in Long Valley. We would like to thank Washington Twp and the Valley Restaurant for hosting this event. The veterans look forward to this event every year.

Time for CHOW
On Wednesday Nov 6, the veterans of post 1776 were at attendance at a special Mass at Our Lady of the Mountain Church in honor of police officers. Msgr. Ray was the celebrant, and he is a chaplain with the FBI and also an active supporter of various police departments as a chaplain. A social was held afterwards in the church hall.
On Wednesday Nov. 6, 2019 went to the Old Farmers Road School for Breakfast and a flag raising ceremony in honor of Veterans Day.

On Oct 3 & 4, 2019 members of our post participated in Jamie Smith Day at West Morris Central High School
Native son and war hero Army Cpl. Jamie Smith, whose death was memorialized in the film, “Black Hawk Down,” will be honored next week at his alma mater, West Morris Central High School.

On Sunday, Veterans of Post 1776 and Chester American Legion Post 342 attended a military-type service for Veteran Dennis Ames as requested by his family. The service was held at the Ashton Farms in Califon.
